Max and Annie (Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams) are a suburban married couple who invite their friends over for a weekly night of Pictionary, Charades, and other friendly games. However, Max's wealthy brother Brooks offers to host the whole gang for a murder-mystery game. When Brooks is kidnapped, everyone assumes the game is on, so they set out to solve the case. But it may not be a game. As the evening progresses, these safe suburbanites are introduced to a world they never knew existed.
